TMI through the years

1988

How it began

The story of TMI starts small: literally in grandfather Tanke's barn in Twente. It was there that the craftsmanship and passion for technology arose that still forms the basis.
1991

Start own business

Matthieu Tanke starts his own metalworking company and builds it into a reliable and growing organization. Driven by expertise, commitment and Twente sobriety, a solid foundation for further expansion is created.
2017

Growth and acquisitions

In the years that follow, the company acquires several companies, including Knobbe Metaalindustrie and TB Steelsupply. This creates a broad base with different specialties, which later form the core of the TMI Group.
2018

Moving to the Goudstraat: TMI Group emerges

The various companies will be brought together under one name: TMI Group. The move to Goudstraat marks the beginning of a strong, unified organization.
2019

New construction on Oosterveldsingel

Due to increasing growth, TMI Group is moving to the Oosterveldsingel in Hengelo. Here the machining activities will be brought together in one modern and future-proof location.
2020

Acquisition of Lasto & expansion

In 2020, Lasto Stainless Steel will be added to the TMI Group. With the construction of an additional hall, the company continues to expand, ready for the future.
